An onslaught of first half goals helped South Tama abruptly end the Pella High boys’ soccer season last night in the Class 2A substate semifinals. The Trojans prevailed 4 – 2, but it was the Little Dutch that got off on the right foot. Sawyer Burton used his head to put in a corner kick in just the second minute of the game to put Pella on top early. However, the Trojans answered back and answered often, using strong execution to put in three goals to take a 3 – 1 lead by intermission. Reid Leidigh had the other tally for Pella in the 56”, but it was not enough. The Little Dutch conclude the regular season with a 13 – 6 mark, and they say “so long” to a total of ten seniors.
