Winterset Library Director Nancy Trask will visit the Knoxville Public Library this weekend to talk about a Winterset native who was the driving force behind the “Monuments Men” during World War II.
The group fought to save archaeological and cultural artifacts from the Nazis. Trask says Lt. George Stout spoke with curators in several countries about putting men in the field to retrieve the worlds’ art before it was destroyed.
Trask will be at the Knoxville Public Library on Saturday at 10am and you can hear more from her on In-Depth with Dr. Bob Leonard.
