A Des Moines man accused of passing a fraudulent check in Pella has pled not guilty to the charges.

Joseph Daniel Duff, 36, was charged with 2nd Degree Theft and Forgery, both Class D felonies. According to court records, Duff passed a fraudulent check for more than $2400 at Leighton State Bank. Police say the check had a forged signature. A pretrial conference is set for August 4th.
