For the 15th consecutive season, the Central volleyball team was recognized for their smarts inside the classroom. The Dutch received the American Volleyball Coaches Association Team Academic Award for the 2014-15 school year. With Central winning the award for the 15th straight season, it marks the longest reign of that sort for any Division III college. To receive the honor, a team must have a combined GPA of at least 3.3 for the preceding year. The Dutch wound up with a 3.40 cumulative grade point average and had five players earn academic all-Iowa Conference honors in the fall, which requires at least a 3.50 GPA. Four other league schools were also worthy of the award: Coe, Luther, Simpson, and Wartburg.
