The 2015 Knoxville Cancer Relay starts this evening with a kickoff party at Ken Locke Stadium from 5:30pm to 8:30pm.

It’s the second year of the event, which will include a local route for runners to keep the community more involved. Runners will traverse 5-mile loops at the start of every hour for 24 hours.

Last year, the group ran across the state of Iowa along Highway 92 and raised over $17,000 for Knoxville Coaches vs Cancer.

The KNIA/KRLS Big Red Radio will be providing music and making announcements throughout the event.

The 2015 Knoxville Cancer Relay will conclude just prior to the start of the Panthers football game against Pella Friday.
