Both Mustang Basketball squads will hit the road to North Polk tonight as they try to avenge a loss to the Comets back in December.

The Lady Mustangs earlier this season were still finding out where they were at individually and where each player fit into the team, and couldn’t find enough scoring to stay with the Comets falling 36-44. Now however, as roles on the team become more clearly defined, Head Coach Jeff Lindsey tells KNIA/KRLS Sports that his team is so much better equipped to deal with the stronger teams of the Heart of Iowa conference.

The Boys would take the lead late in the game against the Comets in their first meeting this season only to have their hearts broken on a buzzer beater three pointer. Logan Gilman would score 25 points, and averages 20 on the season, but the Mustangs will have to compete with a full roster of players on the Comets who can score the basketball. The Comets feature a senior laden squad with two players averaging more than 13 points. Both games will be broadcasted live on KNIAKRLS.com via the KNIA2 stream, with tipoff at 6.
