Senator Amy Sinclair highlighted a bill currently working its way through the legislature in an interview with KNIA/KRLS.
A bill for the rights of deployed parents will help those in the armed services to have more options in regards to child custody battles. Sinclair says currently it is very difficult to determine custody of child when a parent is overseas. The bill will prohibit consideration of previous and future deployment unless the deployment has an identifiable impact on the child. Service members can also appoint the child a temporary guardian while they are away.
