A “street team’s” job is to get the word out about the artist and sell his or her music. The street team of Mikel Knight has been accused in several communities of petty theft, solicitation, kidnapping and in one case a deadly auto accident. Knoxville Police Chief Dan Losada tells KNIA/KRLS News when the “street team” members arrived in town and parked at Walmart officers were notified and confronted the individuals about the lack of a license to sell things in Knoxville. After a brief argument, the members told police they would leave town. Losada reports that since that encounter he has not heard any more reports of the group in town.
