Activity in the Senate is winding down as the final deadline for the 2016 session approaches.

State Senator Ken Rozenboom says it appears both chambers are on track to wrap up legislative work this week. He says attention is focused on committee meetings as budgets are finalized.

He says many bills are passing as the end nears, including a bill intended to help protect victims of domestic violence, a measure to help ensure that school-aged children are meeting literacy benchmarks in a timely manner, and an extension to tax credits for renewable fuels.

The scheduled end to the 2016 session is April 19th.
