The Pleasantville Police Department, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, and the Iowa Department of Criminal Investigation are investigating the death of a four-month old child in Pleasantville.

Pleasantville Police Chief Joe Mrsktik tells KNIA/KRLS News an autopsy will be performed at 10AM this morning, and a toxicology report could take 3-4 weeks for results. Mrstik says this is standard procedure with infant deaths, and he appreciates the help the DCI, the Marion County Sheriff’s Department, and local first responders have provided.
