Students at North Star Elementary in Knoxville kicked off their school garden project on Earth Day by planting their first vegetables in the newly installed U- shaped garden beds at the school.

Third graders from Mrs. Leedham’s class shared the importance of Earth Day, discussing the environment, oceans, animals and how fun it is to dig.This is the first stage of the school garden project. Hanging gardens, and additional beds will be added later.
