The Knoxville Public Library will host the TRACES Center for History and Culture BUS-eum exhibit “At Home in the Heartland: Forgotten Stories of How Iowans Got to Be ‘Us.’” Michael Luick-Thrams with TRACES tells KNIA/KRLS News the exhibit gives Iowans a fresh perspective on the way the state has grown and changed over time.
The exhibit also answers questions about Iowa history. How did the state come to be named Iowa? Who were the people who settled the state? How did Iowans bring refugees to the Hawkeye State during World War Two? The “Buseum” will visit on Monday, May 2 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
