A year ago, Pella Christian’s girls’ soccer team, laden with seniors, gave up 81 goals in 18 games and was shutout ten total times. A younger Eagles’ squad in 2016, through ten games, has already matched last season’s offensive output, and has only allowed 23 goals. After just the first four games, Pella Christian already recorded more shutouts, three, than they did in 2015, when they had two. With six more games left over the next 20 days, Coach Mike Buchheit is hoping their stylish stinginess continues. After the Tulip Time weekend, the Eagles return to action at Knoxville on Monday and then they will host Grinnell on Tuesday.
