Pella Christian Grade School received a $2000 grant funded through the annual Earth Day e-Cycling event to purchase a water fountain and water bottle refilling station.
Donations collected during this April’s e-Cycling event generated funding to promote environmental awareness and responsibility.
Brenda Nugteren of Pella Christian Grade School says they have had the new water bottle refilling station in operation for about four months, and in that time, over 3,200 water bottles have been filled.
The annual Earth Day e-Cycling event began 12 years ago. Items collected included TVs, computers and monitors, printers, and other devices. Over 82,000 pounds of electronic devices were collected and recycled securely during the 2016 event.
