Three people and their dog were injured in a two-car crash at the Highway 163 and Elevator Road interchange Monday morning.

Pella Police and Pella Ambulance responded to the call at approximately 7:45 a.m. A black Ford Focus was traveling northbound on South Clark Street when a reddish Ford Fusion driven by Muhamed Slomic of Pella turned left at the eastbound exit, and officers say the black car couldn’t stop and slammed into the side of the Fusion. Slomic was cited for failure to yield upon left turn.

The three people in the black Ford Focus were all transported to Pella Regional Health Center with minor injuries, and the dog in the car was treated at a nearby veterinary clinic. The Pella Rural Fire Department also assisted at the scene.
