Dangerous heat returns to the area this week.
Heat index values topping 100 degrees are expected on Wednesday and Thursday during the afternoon and evening hours. Those enjoying activities outdoors are reminded to stay hydrated, take frequent breaks in air conditioning and shade, and to wear light colored, loose fitting clothing. A cold front Thursday night may bring overnight storms, but more mild conditions will exist through the weekend.
