A Pleasantville man has been arrested for causing willful injury during a domestic abuse incident.
According to court records and Pleasantville Police Chief Joe Mrstik, Austin Stierwalt allegedly threw a woman to the floor causing her to lose consciousness. After she recovered, he slammed a door on her arm as she tried to get away from him. The victim attempted to call 911, but Stierwalt put her phone in a sink and turned on the water. A third person arrived at the scene and the victim was able to call 911. She suffered injuries to her face and arm. Stierwalt is charged with obstructing an emergency call, domestic abuse assault and willful injury causing bodily injury, a class D felony.
