A late-season round of severe weather is possible throughout south central Iowa this evening.
According to the National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center, a slight risk has been issued for Marion County and most of the surrounding area. Damaging winds and hail are the primary threats, with an isolated tornado also possible as a strong cold front blows through the state. Much cooler weather is expected beginning on Friday.
