This year’s Knoxville Cancer Relay begins tomorrow.

Free will donations will be accepted to contribute to this first event of many that make up the yearly effort for Coaches versus Cancer. A map of this year’s route can be found . The event will begin with a kick-off party at the Ken Locke Stadium base camp at 5:30 p.m. and a cancer survivor walk around the track at 6:30 p.m; all cancer survivors are welcome to participate. Organizer Brian Hatch says the route this year includes shorter loops to ensure those not wanting to run five miles can participate. One and three mile loops ending back at the basecamp will allow those unsure about running five miles show their support for the cause. The relay starts at 7:00 p.m. Vehicles from the police and fire departments will lead the first leg of the relay. The KNIA/KRLS Big Red Radio will be there playing music and making announcements.
