Ice Forecast through Monday evening

Freezing rain is in the forecast through Monday morning.

Mixed precipitation is expected to fall beginning late this afternoon and continue overnight. Ice accumulations between .15″ and .25″ are possible, with most of the freezing occurring overnight through the mid-morning Monday.

The Marion County Road Department reports to KNIA/KRLS News they will be out beginning at three PM to coat rural roads with salt and sand, and trucks will begin additional service at 4 a.m. Monday morning.

Travel is expected to be hazardous, especially west of Marion County. Power outages are possible, and more so if more than .2″ of ice falls in the area.
