The Pella City Council awarded a contract for improvements to the West Electric Substation at their meeting this week.

Castrejon, Inc. of Blaine, Minnesota submitted a bid of just over $231,000, which is for the installation of three additional feeder lines, aimed to increase overall reliability on the west side of the city. The project is a portion of a changeover at the West Substation to a “ring bus” system, which is being done in part to prepare for completion of the Hydroelectric Power Plant at the Lake Red Rock Dam.

A public hearing was set on April 18th to purchase equipment necessary for the additional feeder lines.
