
The Marion County Special Olympics Team recently competed at the Spring Games on April 18th at Indianola Middle School.
19 athletes represented Marion County at the April 18th event with 17 finishing in first place in their respected event. Ben Heywood, Michelle Turnage, Haley Stevens, Marissa Schletzbaum, Joe Morgan, AJ Bull, Stacia Mason, Gracie Irving, Michelle Turnage, Haley Stevens, Marissa Schletzbaum, Jacob Hindman, Stacia Mason, Tegan Ripperger, Shawn Barker, Taylor Fearno and Cameron Cross all advanced to the state meet. The state meet will be held May 25th to the 27th at Iowa State University in Ames. The athletes will be be performing in the 4×100, 4×100 Unified, 50M Dash, 1500M Run, Softball Throw, TurboJav, 25 yd Backstroke and the 25 yd Freestyle. Alex Alder, and Chase Robbins also represented Marion County during the April 18th Spring games with Adler finishing 4th in 50m Dash and Robbins finishing 3rd in the 50m Walk and 2nd in the Softball Throw.
