An Albia man was arrested Monday after being served with a warrant for an incident that took place in January of this year.

Ronald Allan Dixon, 41, was arrested in connection to an incident in which Dixon along with an accomplice allegedly used three counterfeit $50 bills. Video camera footage showed Dixon and the accomplice making a purchase with the counterfeit money. Dixon was charged with forgery a class D felony as well as theft in the 5th degree, and joint criminal conduct.

Dixon was also arrested after being served with a warrant for a hit and run accident that occurred the day before the alleged Forgery took place. According to court documents police were called to the Knoxville Walmart parking lot after a victim stated she had been struck by a silver SUV and the driver had driven off. The victim was able to obtain the first three letters of the SUV’s license plate which was later identified as a gray Jeep Compass registered to Dixon. Dixon originally denied operating the vehicle, then later admitted to police that he indeed was the driver. Dixon was charged with harassment of a public official, failure to provide aid, and failure to provide proof of financial liability. Dixon was arrested and booked into the Marion County Jail with a preliminary hearing date of May 16th.
