Pella’s ten-year Sewer Cleaning and Inspection Program is scheduled to begin early to mid-July.

Public works staff say the process will identify and prioritize future repairs and maintenance in the sanitary sewer collection system. This project includes cleaning the City’s sewer mains and inspecting manholes. Most of the work will take place east of Main Street and south of Vermeer Road.

Any residents who may be affected by this process will receive notification prior to any work being done in their neighborhood. Residents who may notice sewer odors in their homes following this work should make sure that all drain traps in their home are full by pouring water in them.
