Iowa’s Annual Sales Tax Holiday starts today.

No sales tax will be collected on items purchased throughout Iowa starting today and running through Saturday. According to the Iowa Department of Revenue the annual holiday takes place the first Friday and Saturday of August each year. Businesses that are open during the weekend are required to participate. No sales tax, including local option sales tax, will be collected on sales of an article of clothing or footwear having a selling price less than $100.00.
