V.F.W. Post 3519 in Knoxville will be hosting a Ruck for Vets event on Saturday, August 26th.

Registration is $10 and anyone who participants in the ruck event can choose to carry gear and ruck with veterans or choose to walk, run or jog. The event is a 10k with the route passing through Knoxville. The deadline to order t-shirts for the event is Thursday, August 17th. T-shirts can be purchased for $15 by going to the Ramaekers website and clicking on online orders. The t-shirts will be worn during the event which will begin at 8 a.m. and will feature a free will donation lunch. V.F.W. Post 3519 Chaplain Michael Braman tells KNIA/KRLS News all proceeds of the event will go to the V.F.W. 3519 Relief Fund which will help local veterans and their families in times of need. The KNIA/KRLS Lil’ Big Red Radio will be on hand playing music and making announcements.
