The 2017-2018 athletic season gets going in earnest for Central College this Labor Day weekend, with nine Dutch teams seeing action.

On a recent edition of the Central College Radio Coaches Corner on KRLS, Athletic Director Eric Van Kley gave his State of the Union, and said that the cliff notes version is that there is a lot of excitement within the department.

“The momentum of the new Forever Dutch program and what those facilities mean. The new logo and upgrade with that. Some new coaching hires and great assistants that are developing.”

The women’s golf team got Central started on the right foot last Saturday by winning its first tournament of the year.

They’ll be in action this weekend, as will the women’s soccer, tennis, cross-country and volleyball programs, along with men’s soccer, cross-country, golf and football.
