The Pella School Board will begin the budgeting process for the next fiscal year at their meeting Monday.
They will set a public hearing for their March 26th meeting to finalize spending limits for the next year and send a budget to the State Auditor’s Office. The board will hear a presentation of the district’s financial position as well as review a property tax comparison over the past five years.
A resolution will be considered to slightly increase the levy on property taxes after the district learned they qualified for the state’s 99% budget guarantee after a slight decline in certified enrollment was reported in October.
The board will also set the total salary and benefit package increase for teachers and staff, as well as approve Superintendent Greg Ebeling’s 2018-19 contract. Additionally, the board will receive an update about the final stages of renovations at Pella High School.
The Pella School Board meeting begins at 4:30 p.m. in the Pella High School Main Office Conference Room.
