The combined efforts of several local organizations has resulted in the 14th Annual Earth Day Electronic Waste Recycling Day.
On May 19, from 9:00am-12:00pm, local households can drop off their old electronics at 815 West 10th Street. Older CRT monitors and TVs (those with tubes) will be accepted this year as follows: The first two CRTs per vehicle will be accepted at no charge, each CRT over two will be charged $10 each. There is no charge for any other items accepted at the event. Acceptable items include: computer monitors, PCs, laptops, TVs, cell phones, keyboards, printers, and cameras.
Donations will be accepted and proceeds will be used to promote environmental stewardship through a grant program available to local nonprofits. Also, due to federal regulations, they are not able to accept items from businesses, schools, churches or other organizations.
