The Pleasantville track teams traveled to Van Meter for the state qualifying meet and many events will be represented next week at the Blue Oval.

The boys finished second out of 12 teams with 88 points while Van Meter grabbed the title with 120. The sprint medley relay team highlighted the night placing first with a time of 1:35.04. The 4x100m and 4x200m relay team nabbed second place honors for automatic bids. Individuals that qualified were Hunter Tyree in the 100m (11.30) and Chaz Clark in the discus (137’1’’).

On the girls’ side the Trojans placed eighth out of 12 teams with 38 points. Panorama captured a district title with 187 points. The 4x100m relay team punched their ticket to state after a school record time of 51.81 seconds to place second. Kasey Pelzer had a solid showing in the 100m dash finishing third in 13.16 seconds.
