The Pella City Council will receive details about the first segment of sidewalks inspected under a new four-year program implemented this spring at Policy and Planning following regular business Tuesday.
City staff indicates that after an inspection by Garden & Associates, 812 sidewalk panels are considered defective in the northeast quadrant of Pella.
The Pella City Council will determine how to move forward with replacing or repairing the damage, with the intent of replacing all impacted sidewalk panels by next summer. Property owners in Pella are responsible for maintaining sidewalks adjacent to or passing through their land. The council will review a timeline to complete the repairs, which may include bidding out the project to a contractor and assessing the responsible property owners for the replacement or repair cost.
Their meeting begins at 7 p.m. in the Pella Public Safety Complex.
