The Knoxville City Council met in regular session yesterday.
The board held a public hearing on the sale of the property at 502 E Main St. in Knoxville and approved the sale and development agreement with Vermeer Group. The council approved a change order on the Knoxville Public Library Expansion Project to cover further expenses, and heard an update from the Knoxville Chamber of Commerce. The agenda also included a final approval of a change in city code pertaining to the fines and capture of dogs and cats with the partnership of the Marion County Humane Society, but after objections from the humane society board about the process of collecting fines for the Knoxville Police Department, the issue was tabled pending further negotiation.
