After losing 21 seniors to graduation last year and going 5-4 in 2017, the Knoxville Football Squad puts the 2018 season in play tonight at Fairfield. Many of the names will be familiar from other Panthers sports, but new to football fans. Quarterback Cristian Magana, who played only a few plays at signal caller last season will be the man this year. He will also play free safety, where he played last season and picked up three interceptions. Most of the rest of the team is brand new. Coach Eric Kellar tells KNIA/KRLS Sports he thinks his undersized defense can match up with the bigger Fairfield players using their quickness and athletic ability. Toe meets leather tonight on AM 1320 and 95.3 KNIA and kniakrls.com beginning with the pregame show at seven and kick off at 7:30 with Derek Cardwell.
