Alumni, students, faculty, and friends gathered at Central College for the annual Homecoming celebration over the weekend.

Central celebrated the newly-renovated Douwstra Auditorium in style, with a concert by Central ALMA featuring Chris Weaver, a 2010 alum and a contestant on The Voice last year. Weaver tells KNIA/KRLS News it was special to be back on campus and perform in front of friends, alumni, and the community he called home for so long.

“There’s something where you can go to a place and feel unappreciated, or on a pedestal, but to come to a place and just feel like ‘I’m home,’ I think that is the most amazing feeling,” Weaver says.

In addition, Central welcomed three members into the athletics hall of honor, including two-sport all-American Andrew Paulsen ’98, all-America track and field sprinter and football running back Tony Brownlee ’02, and the college’s only Division III female athlete of the year, softball pitcher Libby Hysell Carlton ’03.
