Applications are now being taken for this year’s Knoxville Heritage Community Foundation grants, and qualified tax-exempt organizations are being urged to seek grants from a foundation which has supported Knoxville charities for years.

The foundation provides funds for organizations which work for the improvement of Knoxville’s quality of life.

Dylan Morse is with the Knoxville Heritage Community Foundation; he tells KNIA/KRLS News the organization has a degree of flexibility with the recipients they choose, as long as their objectives are carried out for the good of the city.

“Anything that’s going to add to the long-term health and wellness of our community; whether that be a brick-and-mortar project like the Public Library’s expansion, or projects happening at the Rec Center, projects in the parks, anything that the schools are doing as far as investment in themselves to better the community and move the community forward — that’s what we’re about,” Morse says.

Applications can be submitted online or via mail between now and April 1st; all organizations which receive approval for their request will be invited to a presentation ceremony in May.
