The PCM basketball teams had a successful night in the Heart of Iowa Conference defeating Nevada in a pair of matchups.
The Mustang girls had a cold first half trailing 19-8 at intermission before turning on the jets in the final 16 minutes. The lead was cut to four at the end of three and under a minute left to go in regulation Lilli Baird nailed a three to send the game into overtime. The Mustangs took control in the extra period and won 37-33. Regan Freland led the team with 10 points and Cameron Wignall added nine. PCM moves their record to 8-11.
The boys had little trouble winning 77-59. Derek Brown had a productive night with 22 points and Andrew Van Ryswyk had 16. Jason Stafford and Reed Worth were also in double figures with 14 and 11 points, respectively. PCM improves to 10-7.
