During the recent demolition of the Warren County Courthouse, three time capsules were unearthed dating as far back as 1938. A dedicated 100 year time capsule was marked by a plaque on the courthouse grounds, with former county courthouse employees informing officials of another time capsule located inside the 1988 cornerstone. Construction crews unexpectedly unearthed another time capsule, inside the 1938 cornerstone. The issue of opening the 1938 and 1988 cornerstone time capsules was brought before the board of supervisors to be considered Tuesday, however no official action was taken. The 1949 dedicated time capsule will be re-buried on the new Justice Center grounds, and won’t be opened until the 100 year time period has passed.
