Maddie Parks struck out 10 Pella Christian batters and scattered just four hits as the Pella High softball team blanked the Eagles 9-0 in a game heard live on the KRLS3 stream at www.kniakrls.com on Wednesday night.

Parks and Maddie Rempe each had three hits as part of an 11-hit Lady Dutch attack, and Pella took advantage of six Pella Christian errors.  Coach Teresa Thompson says it was one of Pella’s most complete efforts of the season so far.

“We had hits and we scored and we executed and played tough defense, plus Maddie pitched a great game.  It was just the consistency of all of that put together, which is what every coach wants in a game. It really made it a smooth easy game for the girls to be successful behind their pitcher.”

Pella improves to 9-10 on the season and 2-8 in Little Hawkeye Conference play.  They’re right back in action tonight at home against Indianola, and you can hear the action on 94.3 FM KNIA and the KNIA mobile app.  Pella Christian falls to 7-10, and after an off today today, they’ll host Norwalk tomorrow night.
