The PCM Baseball Squad traveled to Green County for a double header with the Rams and came back with two victories 6-5 in game one and 2-0 in game two. In game one, the Mustangs were down 5-1 in the seventh, and pulled off the win. With runners on first and second, PCM got a single to score a run to make it 5-2, then another single made it 5-3 when Olin Meinders sent a chopper to second, who could not handle the play and two other errors would score two runs for PCM to tie the game at five. With Meinders at second Preston Van Wyk became the hero as he sent a ground ball to second that scored Meinders on a throwing error to win the game 6-5. It was a little less dramatic in game two as PCM’s Andrew Mitchell silenced the Green County bats for just two hits in a 2-0 win. Mitchell pitched 6 2/3 innings and Gabe Steenhoek got the save. PCM returns to the road tonight at Clarke. The softball Mustangs split winning game one 4-1. Riley Johannes had three RBI, and Paige Steenhoek got the win. Green County evened the score in game two 6-4. Riley DeVore pitched 3 2/3 innings taking the loss.
