The Pella City Council adopted the annual wage scale and associated city employee benefits at their meeting Tuesday. Council approved an overall raise of 2.5 percent, which is tied to the Employment Cost Index published by the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics, and will cost approximately $134,000. Council also approved agreement with Wellmark for health insurance and Delta Dental for different dental coverage. Council also approved a resolution to annex land adjacent to 218th Avenue from Neil Drive to the Shady Brook subdivision, which includes two consenting property owners and the Pella Soccer Complex. The resolution allows the city to move forward in annexing two non-consenting property owners, which when all are in the corporate limits, would have the city then proceed with a resurfacing of the gravel road to asphalt.
