The Marion County Board of Supervisors met in regular session Tuesday. The board held a public hearing on zoning map changes in the unincorporated town of Columbia. Melissa Poffenbarger with the Zoning Department tells the board the reason for amending the zoning map is to clean it up. Poffenbarger says all the properties have been in existence with their current use for more than 10 years so it’s just a chance to officially clean up the map. Following the hearing they approved amending the zoning map and the authorization of the final publication. The board also approved a county held tax sale as well as approved the fiscal year 2020 property tax credit applications. The board also held a closed session meeting with no action being taken.
