Today is Halloween and with Halloween comes local Beggars Night festivities. Local children will have the opportunity to trick or treat tonight throughout the area. In the communities of Knoxville, Pella, Monroe, Pleasantville, Prairie City and Melcher-Dallas, Beggars’ Night will be held tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. and in Bussey Beggars’ Night will also be held tonight but will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. The Knoxville Police Department would like to remind residents not to play in the streets, walk on sidewalks, avoid wearing masks and instead try to use face paint. Anyone participating in Beggars Night should always have a light of some sort and try to go to familiar houses instead of strangers.
