The South Central Conference is having its wrestling meet tonight. Normally, conferences have their meets at the end of the season just before sectionals and districts but the South Central has not had a conference meet in several seasons, acknowledging its conference champion during the dual meet season. Knoxville Doug Hatch says they are trying it for a couple of seasons to see how it goes. Regardless of when the South Central Conference meet is, Hatch tells KRLS Sports everyone is capable of winning the title tonight.

Hatch:
“Davis County, they put a great team on the mat, Eddyville is always tough, Albia is always tough. Centerville always has state finalists and place winners coming back, and Chariton has a great coach they’ll be ready to go, everybody will be ready to go.”

Centerville is likely the favorite going in as the Big Reds are ranked sixth according to the latest iawrestle.com class 2A ranking, with three individuals ranked in the top ten of their respective weight class including two who are ranked number one. The meet gets underway tonight at 6:00pm in Centerville.
