The Melcher Dallas girls basketball team took care of business last night in their first game back from winter break. They hosted Murray High School for a Bluegrass Conference matchup, and got the 38-22 win.

Haley Godfrey led the team with 14 points, 8 rebounds and 3 steals, Grace Overgaard and Kynser Reed both came up with another 8 points each. Overgaard dominated in the paint coming up with 11 rebounds, and Reed added 2 assists.

The boys lost to Murray 87-49, Ryan Krpen had 15 points and Steven had 10 points. The boys will take on 6-2 Seymour tonight, Head Coach Jim Wells expects a challenge.

“They’re a very talented team and I think we played a very good game, and I looked at how well we shot the ball that game and I think we knocked down the 3 real we all and yeah I think we’ll have to go down to Seymour and be ready for a dogfight on their court”

The girls will try to avenge their triple-overtime loss from earlier this season at 6:00, with the boys game to follow around 7:30 this evening at Seymour.
