With the spring sports season officially canceled after Governor Kim Reynolds announced schools would not be reopening for the remainder of the school year, the Indianola boys track team will say goodbye to 11 seniors on the squad. Head coach Matt Oliver tells KNIA Sports on and off the track, the graduating class will be terribly missed.

“They were great leaders, great students, who excelled at a lot of different things. Obviously you want the highlights of winning competitions, being state qualifiers or Drake Relays qualifiers, but I miss just being around those guys. Especially our seniors, they were just good men and good leaders, and our younger guys just really thrived off of them in those roles.”

Oliver also said they will be tough to replace, and they put in the time to succeed so hopefully the younger guys can follow their example.
