What remains of tropical system Cristobal will begin to affect Iowa today, with the eastern portion of the state getting hit the hardest. According to the National Weather Service, 1-2” of rain is possible and will persist throughout the day, with another round bringing additional precipitation in the overnight hours. The heaviest rainfall will take place in the central and eastern portion of the state, with all of south central Iowa under a flash flood watch. The one to count on for severe weather information is KNIA/KRLS.
