The Knoxville Baseball Squad will embark on its postseason journey tonight as the Panthers travel to Winterset to take on the class 3A eighth ranked Huskies. The Panthers come in as a decided underdog as the overall eighth seed in the substate and sporting a 9-9 record. Coach Turner Devore knows the task at hand will be daunting against a very good Winterset club.

Devore:
“They’re very, very experienced in this game, they lost to Harlan in the sub state a year ago. They’re experienced and it’s on their home ballpark and they’re very deep, and we’re going to have to play well if we’re going to go in there and have a chance.”

Knoxville and Winterset typically meet up in an early season game, but due to the shortened season they did not play during the regular season. The Panthers have owned the series throughout the years, but the Huskies have won the last two meetings. You can hear the call on 95.3 KNIA starting with the pre game at 6:45pm.
