The Pleasantville girls basketball team has earned the #6 spot in this year’s countdown. The Trojans entered their game at Chariton on January 28th on a nine-game losing streak. Pleasantville fell behind 18-14 at halftime, and the work was cut out for the Trojans.

The Trojans were able to fight back to lead 28-26 after three, but the fourth quarter was not enough to determine a winner. The teams went into overtime tied a 41, but each team scored five points in the frame. It was a 46-46 tie, and the teams went into double overtime. That’s when the Trojans ramped things up, sealing a 58-53 victory.

Mallory McKinney had a stellar game, scoring 24 points on 10-16 shooting, while also pulling in 11 rebounds. Rachel Harvey tacked on 15 points in the effort.

Pleasantville finished the season 8-14 overall and said goodbye to two seniors.
