The Iowa High School Athletic Association and Iowa High School Girls Athletic Union have released initial guidelines for the upcoming fall sports season, which includes football, volleyball, cross country, and boys golf in Class 4A.

Generally, there are several considerations similar to the baseball and softball season when it comes to practices, sanitation protocols during games, and an encouragement of distancing by players, fans, and coaches whenever possible.

IHSAA Communications Director Chris Cuellar says much like the summer, restrictions related to crowd size, mask-wearing requirements, and testing and quarantining procedures will be left to the Iowa Department of Public Health, county health departments, and school administrators and boards.
