twin-cedars-melcher-dallas-showdown-rivalry

The Twin Cedars and Melcher-Dallas Volleyball match last night was everything a fan would want and more, and in the end it was the Saints getting a narrow 3-2 win over their rivals 25-11, 23-25 25-11, 21-25, and 15-13. Twin Cedars came out flat in set one and fell behind early on and could never recover, but came back to even the match at one set apiece only to have Melcher-Dallas blow out the Sabers in set three. But as they did all night, Twin Cedars forced a set five with defensive play when it needed the most. Jetta Sterner led the Sabers with ten kills, Ali Mockenhaupt had 46 digs, and Rylee Dunkin dealt out 24 assists. Kynser Reed led with 17 kills and Grace Overgaard came up with 12 kills and four blocks. Serving was again a strong point for the Saints with Riley Enfield going 28/29 with three aces behind the line and Kenzie Smith going 21/22 with an ace. The Saints are now 13-1 on the season and for the second straight season clinched the Bluegrass Conference Eastern Division title. The Sabers fall to 7-8 on the season.
